Help Us Support Li'l Licorice!

Licorice (collar #74) arrived at the shelter on May 5th and was immediately a staff and volunteer favorite. She has a gorgeous long coat, and she's sweet and friendly to boot. She gets along with all the other cats at the shelter.
Our shelter staff noticed that Licorice had some problems with her teeth. We took her to the vet and had two teeth removed. We also noticed that she was drinking excessively. When we checked her bloodwork, we found that her BUN (blood urea nitrogen) and creatinine levels were slightly higher than normal. These results may have been from her tooth infection, or she may be displaying the early stages of kidney disease.

Licorice is so sweet, purrs all the time and has a hearty appetite. We recommend an all wet food diet and testing her blood work again in late June (CCLAS is happy to pay for her follow up blood test). She has tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is spayed, and up to date with her vaccinations. Please consider adopting Licorice if you have experience caring for a special needs cat, or if you would like to give a very special animal a home.

If you can't adopt right now please consider donating to CCLAS to help us cover Licorice's vet bills for her dental surgery and bloodwork at http://cclas.info/donate.html

Timing is running out...

Timing is running out for Olivia at the Lakewood Animal Shelter. She's been waiting for her new family for the past month. Unfortuately, the shelter only has 10 cages and they are unable to keep cats for an unlimited amount of time. Olivia is outgoing, loves catnip, and would fair well as an indoor outdoor cat. Ask for collar 150.

Olivia, a good indoor & outdoor cat

Olivia is a young ear-tipped black & white female cat with the most adorable pink nose. Because she's ear-tipped, she has experience being indoors and outdoors. She's outgoing and would make a good companion for someone who let's their cats outside. Ask for collar 150 — at Lakewood Animal Shelter.

Black White & Gray

Silver is the first kitten of three up for adoption. He gets his good looks from mom, Jenna, collar 98. He's adorable, social, and playful. Recently neutered on 5/28, Silver is now up for adoption at the shelter. Ask for collar 99.

Ce Ce is social butterfly at the shelter. The staff usually just let's Ce Ce walk freely around because she's quite messy in her cage. Recently spayed, this bright eyed all white kitty would make a great companion. Ask for collar 118.

Oreo & Hershey, collar 119 and 120, are littermate sisters who were lucky enough to find their way to the shelter. Recently spayed, these littermates are available for adoption together, Oreo's more social, while Hershey relies on her sister for companionship. Ask for collar 119 and 120.

These cats are available for adoption at the Lakewood Animal Shelter, located in the Cleveland Metroparks, on Cleveland Metroparks Drive (Valley Parkway) just south of the Dog Park. Adoption fees are always - only $35. The fee includes a deworming treatment, an initial vaccination, flea prevention treatment, a collar with identification tag, a cardboard carrier, and an initial wellness exam with a second vaccination from participating local veterinarians. Adoption hours are Tuesdays & Thursday 12 to 6, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 12-4. Please visit our website at http://www.cclas.info and our blog at http://cclaspets.blogspot.com/

"We're on a mission from God"

Meet the real Blues Brothers, Jake and Elwood. These litter mates have been in a funk ever since their owner, abandoned them out on the street to fend for themselves for the past 3 weeks, before moving out of the country. Both are neutered, approximately 2-3 years old and very very sweet!

"We're on a mission from God" and would like to adopt them out together. Please share!
