Playtime for Angel. Waiting for her furever family.

The sweetest angel we have is "Angel," a lovable female tabby cat that is looking for the chance to be part of a family in a nice home. Angel survived two polar vortexes outside, after she was abandoned by her previous owner in the West End last fall. Angel has already been spayed, plus she's recently vaccinated and treated with flea prevention medicine. Angel would enjoy living in a stress-free environment in a loving home among those who can appreciate how beautiful of a cat she is! Right now, she prefers to be in a one-cat household, but we are hopeful that she may grow to appreciate other feline companions in the home. Angel will give you attention and show her love and appreciation by giving you "head bumps." 

Looking for a cat that you can bond with? Angel is the one! She will meow and purr when getting petted and rubbed, along with attention in general. She has also tested negative for FeLV/FIV and has a clean bill of health.

My foster mom says that I am a snuggle monster. The only thing I might love more than snuggling is rolling over and attacking my toys. I have great litter box manners and I love other kitties. I am very brave. I found my way from an on ramp to a kind lady's house. She found me playing in her water fountain and let me come inside with her kitties. I soon learned I love other kitties and to chase toys around the room. It took a while for the road rash on my paws to heal, but I soon learned I love being spoiled rotten! It all became about me. Meet Evie, a wee little furball!

Evie is a cute little medium hair tortie. She showed up at the shelter by herself, spent a few weeks in foster care and is now available for adoption at the shelter. According to her foster, she's very friendly and gentle, yet skittish about common place noises. She's a people food hound! She even tried an orange. Ask for collar 182.

Timing is running out for Olivia at the Lakewood Animal Shelter. She's been waiting for her new family for the past month. Unfortuately, the shelter only has 10 cages and they are unable to keep cats for an unlimited amount of time. Olivia is outgoing, loves catnip, and would fair well as an indoor outdoor cat. Sunshine was abandoned by her owner with her littermate in crate behind the Bi-Rite grocery store about two weeks ago.  Someone rescued her littermate, Cosmo outside, but we have not been able to reunite the two. Sunshine, collar 174, spayed declawed female - outgoing and very overweight.

The Lakewood Animal Shelter is at FULL CAPACITY with cats and kittens available for adoption. CCLAS has placed several of the adoptable cats in foster homes to free up cages at the shelter, but what we really need is to find homes for these sweet animals THIS WEEKEND. All adult cats at the shelter or in foster care are only $15 this Friday and Saturday! Everyone available for adoption has been either spayed or neutered, received an initial vaccination plus treated with flea prevention medicine.

Amazing cats like Hera, Quincy, Martha, Lizzy and Trouble are waiting for their furever homes...but they can't wait forever! King is a large, handsome boy. He's friendly, likes to play and gets along great with other dogs. A little nervous at the shelter, he can be a bit vocal when you first meet him, but that's just King's way of saying "HI!"

Hera is a gorgeous tortoiseshell Manx, with a unique shortened tail. She's friendly and gets along well with other cats, but has her "sassy" moments...and with a face that pretty, who can blame her?

Mickey was found wandering the streets near Lakewood Park when a good samaritan brought him to the shelter late last week, recently neutered and vaccinated, this dashing fellow is ready to meet his forever family. Ask for collar 49.

Quark (collar #17) is a very beautiful silver tabby young mama cat. After a foray out in the Metroparks, she's quite happy to be back in the care of the shelter. She's has spent the last 6 months in foster care and gets along great with the dogs and cats in her temporary home. While she may appear shy at first, she's made great strides while in foster care and no longer hides when company visits.
