Once again, dozens of Lakewood and Cleveland-area businesses and have generously donated items and services for auction, including tickets to Cleveland sporting events, live shows, restaurant and spa certificates, local art, tons of pet-friendly products and much more! The event features local comedian Mark McKenzie (Last Call Cleveland) as emcee, DJ entertainment, food and an OPEN BAR (domestic/well). As always, 100% of the proceeds will benefit the animals in the community of Lakewood and allow us to continue our low-cost spay and neuter program.

Do you love animals? Do you love shopping? You can satisfy both these loves at the upcoming Macy’s Shop-for-a-Cause event on October 16, as Citizens Committee for a Lakewood Animal Shelter (CCLAS) is participating in this year’s event for the second time due to the success last year!
As an active retailer for community causes, Macy’s has partnered for years with non-profit organizations from around the country to raise more than $28 million for their ongoing charitable efforts.
The details are simple. For a charitable donation of $5.00, you will receive exclusive all-day savings storewide up to 25% off on a wide assortment of merchandise (as well as an extra-special offer for selected departments). Macy’s will provide CCLAS these special Shopping Passes to sell for $5 each, and CCLAS will get to keep 100 percent of the proceeds to go towards aiding in the adoption of abandoned cats and dogs, as well as advocacy on behalf of animals and responsible pet ownership in the Lakewood community. We have over 100 shopping passes to sell by October 16. If we sell all of our passes, we would raise about $500 – that would go toward the spay or neuter of 14 adopted animals from our shelter!
If you’re interested in making a $5.00 contribution to the CCLAS and receiving one of these exclusive all-day Macy’s shopping passes, please contact the CCLAS board at cclaspets@gmail.com or attend the upcoming October Members’ Member meeting at the Panera in Lakewood on Tuesday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m.
The CCLAS Mission
The underlying mission of CCLAS is to improve and protect the lives of Lakewood's pet companion population. Specifically, by providing financial and volunteer resources, CCLAS aids in the adoption of abandoned animals including, but not limited to, cats and dogs, as well as their well being during their stay at the Lakewood Animal Shelter. Further, through fundraising and adoption events, its newsletter and other programs such as the Spay/Neuter program, CCLAS interacts with the Lakewood community to promote education and advocacy regarding the Shelter and responsible pet ownership. http://www.cclas.info
