Jenna, collar 98, is mama kitty to kittens Silver, Grady, and Lyra - all who have since been adopted. Currently in foster care, she was spayed in late May. Adoption fees are always - only $35. The fee includes a deworming treatment, an initial vaccination, flea prevention treatment, a collar with identification tag, a cardboard carrier, and an initial wellness exam with a second vaccination from participating local veterinarians. Emergency c-section for a mama kitty

On Friday morning, a sweet tabby cat at the shelter went into labour.

Unfortunately the young adult cat was in serious distress, her first kitten became stuck in the birth canal and sadly didn't make it. CCLAS rushed her to West Park Animal, where they performed an emergency c-section, because a second kitty was also stuck and feared dead.

Mama was in a lot of pain, but she and her four kittens survived the surgery. The family of five will be transferred to foster care this week.

Meet Quark, collar 17

Quark (collar #17) is a very beautiful silver tabby young mama cat. After a foray out in the Metroparks, she's quite happy to be back in the care of the shelter. She's has spent the last 6 months in foster care and gets along great with the dogs and cats in her temporary home. While she may appear shy at first, she's made great strides while in foster care and no longer hides when company visits. FOSTER HOME NEEDED ASAP

The shelter is still looking for foster home for a nursing mom with two 6-week old kittens and for one kitten about 3-weeks old. Please call the shelter before 5pm at (216) 529-5020, if you can help!!!!

Reese and her step-kitten move into foster care!

Reese, a young tortoiseshell kitty, was dropped off at the shelter by herself, by a Lakewood resident who thought they were doing the right thing. Unfortunately Reese was a nursing mama cat and the resident was unable to locate her kittens. A day later, another resident dropped a four week old orphan all black fluffy kitten. The shelter staff placed the young kitten with Reese who immediately took a liking to the little fellow. Reese has been the little kitten's new stepmom for over a week - grooming, nursing and playing with him.

Today they were fortunate to move into their temporary foster home for the next few weeks.

Included are some pictures of their journey from transportation, to bath time and to the new digs!
