Violet's Second Chance

We spoke with Dr. Rog this week at the Lakewood Animal Hospital about Violet's eye.

When Violet was hit by a car last November, the right side of her head probably had contact with the tire which caused her jaw and eye injury. Although Dr. Rog still feels her eye may heal over time, but it's difficult to determine if she can see from her right eye or if she will require surgery, in the future.

Pick MeMe!

My foster mom says that I am a snuggle monster. The only thing I might love more than snuggling is rolling over and attacking my toys. I have great litter box manners and I love other kitties. I am very brave. I found my way from an on ramp to a kind lady's house. She found me playing in her water fountain and let me come inside with her kitties. I soon learned I love other kitties and to chase toys around the room. It took a while for the road rash on my paws to heal, but I soon learned I love being spoiled rotten! It all became about me. Which is how I became named Meme. I am looking forward to meeting you! Recently spayed, I'm now ready for adoption. Email us at CCLASpets@gmail.com.

Meme is available for adoption through CCLAS. Adoption fees are always low - only $35. The fee includes a deworming treatment, an initial vaccination, flea prevention treatment, a collar with identification tag, a cardboard carrier, and an initial wellness exam with a second vaccination from participating local veterinarians. Ray of Light. Meet Sunshine.

Sunshine was abandoned by her owner with her littermate in crate behind the Bi-Rite grocery store about two weeks ago.  Someone rescued her littermate, Cosmo outside, but we have not been able to reunite the two. Sunshine, collar 174, spayed declawed female - outgoing and very overweight.

URGENT: Shelter is full! 19 cats up for adoption. Only 12 cages.

The Lakewood Animal Shelter is at FULL CAPACITY with cats and kittens available for adoption. CCLAS has placed several of the adoptable cats in foster homes to free up cages at the shelter, but what we really need is to find homes for these sweet animals THIS WEEKEND. All adult cats at the shelter or in foster care are only $15 this Friday and Saturday! Everyone available for adoption has been either spayed or neutered, received an initial vaccination plus treated with flea prevention medicine.

Amazing cats like Hera, Quincy, Martha, Lizzy and Trouble are waiting for their furever homes...but they can't wait forever! Stop into the shelter between noon and 4:00 p.m. or visit our Adopt-A-Pet album, to see our current list of adoptables. Can you, or someone you know, rescue one of these felines, or maybe offer up a foster home?

Big or Small, We Have Your New Best Friend!

Animals are waiting at the Lakewood Animal Shelter to meet their new best friend - YOU! King and Hera are just two of the many homeless animals available for adoption.

King is a large, handsome boy. He's friendly, likes to play and gets along great with other dogs. A little nervous at the shelter, he can be a bit vocal when you first meet him, but that's just King's way of saying "HI!"

Hera is a gorgeous tortoiseshell Manx, with a unique shortened tail. She's friendly and gets along well with other cats, but has her "sassy" moments...and with a face that pretty, who can blame her?
