LOST CAT IN LAKEWOOD: Indoor only tortoiseshell female. It's going to be very cold outside this week - let's help find Piper! She lives near Clifton Blvd and Hall Ave. and was last seen Sunday, Feb 23. She was not wearing a collar, but is spayed with current shots. She's almost 8 months, a sweetheart and probably very scared! She's comfortable around people and may be lured with food (especially wet or human food). Her human and feline family miss her very much.

Also we're grateful to receive daily updates from his foster, here’s the latest on his condition and spirit: 

Patrick won the hearts of all the reporters and cameramen on Tuesday. We’re so appreciate that all of the stations covered his story and for the attention they brought to seriousness of frostbite with our four-legged friends.

After the interviews, he was really worn out, but on Wednesday he was acting like a toddler according to his foster. He was always into something or wanting her undivided attention.

We also recently tested his stool and it came back negative for parasites - which is great news so we can just focus on the frostbite issues.

LOOKING FOR A FOSTER!

After months on the street, Angel was looking forward to her chance for normal life. Although she recently came down with a common feline upper respiratory infection and is now in need of a foster home to recuperate. Violet's Second Chance

We spoke with Dr. Rog this week at the Lakewood Animal Hospital about Violet's eye.

When Violet was hit by a car last November, the right side of her head probably had contact with the tire which caused her jaw and eye injury. Although Dr. Rog still feels her eye may heal over time, but it's difficult to determine if she can see from her right eye or if she will require surgery, in the future.

Violet, our survivor kitty!

Now known as Violet, collar 362, this domestic medium-hair brown calico cat was hit by a car on Wednesday, November 27 near Madison Ave and McKinley in Lakewood. Fortunately for her, a good Samaritan scooped her up and rushed her to the Lakewood Animal Hospital for immediate medical attention.

Lakewood Animal Hospital cared for the young calico through weekend, hoping that her owner would call the shelter or the hospital looking for their lost pet - unfortunately no one has reported a lost calico matching her description to the shelter. She was syringed fed for several weeks and cared for by the hospital staff. After three weeks at the animal hospital, CCLAS placed Violet with a foster home to recover and finish her eye treatment.

This kitty is available for adoption through the Lakewood Animal Shelter, located in the Cleveland Metroparks, on Cleveland Metroparks Drive (Valley Parkway) just south of the Dog Park. Adoption fees are always low - only $35. The fee includes a deworming treatment, an initial vaccination, flea prevention treatment, a collar with identification tag, a cardboard carrier, and an initial wellness exam with a second vaccination from participating local veterinarians.  Adoption hours are Tuesdays & Thursday 12 to 6, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 12-4.
