A chance for survival!

At many city-run shelters, kittens with ringworm wouldn't have a chance for survival, but with your help, we can beat those odds! Check out the link below about our five little foster kittens plagued with the unfortunate, but treatable condition.

BOGO Kittens!

BOGO is Black! Adopt two black kittens and we'll waive the adoption fee on the second kitten. #1lkwd

Adopting two kittens at the same time is best, but if you only want one kitten, we'll take $5.00 off that kitten's adoption fee.

Do you recognize this schnauzer?

Do you recognize this schnauzer? She was seen running around the Metropark Marina on Wednesday night and eventually caught on Thursday at a Lakewood Fire Station in the west end. She's currently in foster care with CCLAS for the Lakewood Animal Shelter.

We believe she has an owner because she appears recently groomed and has stitches from a recent procedure. She's wearing a red collar but no tags or a chip.

Email or call the Lakewood Animal Shelter if you recognize her, at 216.529.5020

Pick MeMe!

My foster mom says that I am a snuggle monster. The only thing I might love more than snuggling is rolling over and attacking my toys. I have great litter box manners and I love other kitties. I am very brave. I found my way from an on ramp to a kind lady's house. She found me playing in her water fountain and let me come inside with her kitties. I soon learned I love other kitties and to chase toys around the room. It took a while for the road rash on my paws to heal, but I soon learned I love being spoiled rotten! It all became about me. Which is how I became named Meme. I am looking forward to meeting you! Recently spayed, I'm now ready for adoption. Email us at CCLASpets@gmail.com.

Meme is available for adoption through CCLAS. Adoption fees are always low - only $35. The fee includes a deworming treatment, an initial vaccination, flea prevention treatment, a collar with identification tag, a cardboard carrier, and an initial wellness exam with a second vaccination from participating local veterinarians. So Many Cats Available for Adoption!

Summer is winding down but the Lakewood Animal Shelter is STILL overflowing with cats in all shapes, sizes and personalities that are waiting to be adopted. And for the next three days, all adoptions are $10 off with coupon!

Celeste (collar 185) was found abandoned in a carrier with her brother, Zack (collar 184). She loves people, and waits in the hall at the shelter to love on anyway who walks by. Celeste's brother Zack is happy to sit with his butt in the sun all day. Volunteers at the shelter call him a "dog-cat".

Missy (collar 136) started her time with the shelter in foster care, but is back at the shelter. She'd love to be in her new home by Labor Day!

Pearl (collar 189) came to the shelter with her baby kitten after a traumatic previous life. Her kitten was adopted and now Pearl is waiting her turn! (In foster care.)

Paul and Vincent (collars 248, 249) spent most of their summer lounging on a Lakewood resident's porch. At just 13 weeks old, both are social and playful.

The Lakewood Animal Shelter is located in the Cleveland Metroparks, on Cleveland Metroparks Drive (Valley Parkway) just south of the Dog Park. Adoption fees are always low - only $35. The fee includes a deworming treatment, an initial vaccination, flea prevention treatment, a collar with identification tag, a cardboard carrier, and an initial wellness exam with a second vaccination from participating local veterinarians. Adoption hours are Tuesdays & Thursday 12 to 6, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 12-4. Please visit our website at http://www.cclas.info and our blog at http://cclaspets.blogspot.com.

Meet Evie, a wee little furball!

Evie is a cute little medium hair tortie. She showed up at the shelter by herself, spent a few weeks in foster care and is now available for adoption at the shelter. According to her foster, she's very friendly and gentle, yet skittish about common place noises. She's a people food hound! She even tried an orange. Ask for collar 182.
